What services does OurRitual provide? How is OurRitual different from therapy and other conventional couples counseling methods?

OurRitual offers personalized, emotionally supportive relationship guidance and education for couples and individuals. Our hybrid model combines one-on-one or couples sessions with our trained Experts and engaging digital content developed by leading professionals in the relationship research field.

What does our digital content include? What kind of tools do we offer members online?

When members join OurRitual and log in to the platform, they begin their personal and self-paced part of the journey — this is the independent component of our hybrid model. Through the platform, they can explore curated Pathways (our educational modules) that are designed to provide important information and content through impactful short videos, reflective questionnaires, and guided journal prompts. Members are encouraged to express their thoughts, emotions, and insights using a range of interactive tools and features designed to support personal growth and self-awareness

What type of training and experience is required?

We hire Relationship Experts from around the world with a wide range of professional backgrounds, including psychologists, marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers, professional counselors, and certified coaches. Most of our team hold graduate degrees or the equivalent, and nearly all are licensed in their country or state of residence. Many have additional training in evidence-based modalities for couples such as the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or Internal Family Systems (IFS). Above all, our Experts bring extensive experience supporting couples through common relationship challenges such as communication breakdowns, conflict, and trust repair.

Will I need to undergo any training to start? How does the onboarding process work?

Our onboarding includes a structured, self-guided program mirroring the experience of members, allowing you to familiarize yourself with our methodology and platform. You’ll have opportunities to practice key scenarios and will receive ongoing mentoring from senior team members and dedicated liaisons during your first two months. Additionally, we offer paid training for new platform features as they’re introduced.

Will I consistently work with the same members? How long will they stay with the platform?

Typically, you’ll work with the same members. Our goal is to create meaningful and lasting connections between Experts and members meaning that you’ll usually accompany your assigned members from the beginning to the end of their time with OurRitual. However, if members request adjustments to better match their specific needs, changes can easily be made.

Members’ journeys vary widely—some engage briefly, and others stay for months or even years. Each OurRitual Journey is unique, and our Experts have the opportunity to work with and learn from members at all different stages of relationship development.

Will I know in advance about the members I will work with?

You and your members will be matched based on a variety of factors, with the primary goal being to ensure that each member that signs up for our service is able to attend sessions at the times that are convenient for them.

When a member signs up, they’ll provide some information about themselves through a questionnaire. Once a member is assigned to you, they’ll be able to schedule their first session with you, and you’ll receive some information from that questionnaire in order to start getting to know them and their what they hope to get out of using OurRitual. Of course, your session time will be the foundation of your relationship with your members.

How long is each session?

Our plans are built on a foundation of 40 minute sessions for couples, and 20 minute sessions for individuals. This amount of time allows us to achieve one of our central goals, making couples guidance more financially accessible.

That being said, members can request to increase both the frequency and duration of sessions to create a process that works for them. This means that you may meet more frequently or for a longer time with certain members than with others.

Do members stay with the same Expert after their first session?

First sessions are an opportunity for our members and their matched Expert to create a connection and begin planning the members’ journey. As such, our intention is that members stay with the same Expert after their first session. Still, there may be cases where members request a more specific match for their needs after their first session, in which case they would not continue with the same Expert.

Is there a limit to how long members can receive sessions?

Paying members can continue to use OurRitual services, including sessions with their Expert, as long as it suits their needs.

At what rate will I be paid? How does compensation work?

As a contractor, your hourly rate will be determined by several factors, including experience and qualifications, discussed during hiring. You'll be compensated for session time, short-notice cancellations, and receive an additional 25% for session-related preparation and follow-up tasks. Other activities like trainings or content creation have separate, standardized compensation.
The technicalities are taken care of by our accounting program which automatically creates a report for each Expert at the end of the month and which will be sent to you for your approval. You’ll then upload an invoice, and a transfer will be made to your bank account.

How does scheduling work? How do I ensure that I can balance OurRitual with my other commitments?

You control your availability using Calendly, a scheduling tool that integrates seamlessly with your personal calendars to prevent conflicts. Your schedule remains private, while members choose available session times within the hours you've set. We work to optimize your schedule and fill up windows to ensure you’re as busy as you’d like to be. You’ll always be notified when sessions are scheduled.

How do holidays, vacation, and time-off work?

As contractors, our Experts control their own schedules. We encourage our Experts to take vacation time for the maintenance of their families’ and their own well-being. At the same time, we are committed to providing our members continuous support and therefore we maintain certain communication guidelines about time off. Specifics will be clarified for those who join our team of Experts.

What type of professional support is offered to Experts?

We offer our Experts both a variety of team-building resources as well as professional trainings, support, and learning experiences. We provide extensive professional and community support, including mentorship, professional pods (small groups led by senior Experts), regular masterclasses, office hours, and a dedicated team Slack group to collaborate and consult as needed.

Am I required to have any type of insurance or other coverage in order to work with OurRitual?

OurRitual maintains Errors & Omissions coverage for all employees and contractors specifically related to services provided through our platform. Specific details can be addressed during onboarding. Please note that this coverage is relevant only for services you provide through the OurRitual platform.
